Jasmino Corporation's journey is one of steady evolution and strategic expansion. Adheesh Ramani, CEO of Jasmino Corporation Pvt. Ltd, reflects on the company's rich history, tracing its origins back to 1978 when it was established as a manufacturer of rubber products, primarily molded and extruded items. Under the leadership of his father, Ramani Seshadri, a graduate of the London School of Rubber, the company made a pivotal shift in 1982, venturing into rubber-based corrosion protection linings. The establishment of Jasmino Polymertech in Taloja, Maharashtra, in 2000 was a defining milestone, enabling the company to integrate equipment manufacturing with anticorrosion linings. Over time, Jasmino diversified its offerings, cementing its expertise in various anti-corrosion solutions while maintaining its core strength in rubber linings.
"Our expansion into five primary sectors—design and engineering, equipment manufacturing, anticorrosion linings, engineered rubber products, and water treatment—has enabled us to serve industries ranging from petrochemicals and thermal power to pharmaceuticals," Ramani explains. Today, Jasmino operates across 15 countries, leveraging strategic partnerships in Europe and the Middle East. The company's impressive growth trajectory, with an annual growth rate exceeding 50 per cent over the past four years, has been further strengthened by the acquisition of two German firms, positioning it as the third-largest provider of anti-corrosion solutions globally.
Jasmino's expertise in rubber linings plays a crucial role in enabling industries to adopt cleaner and more sustainable operations. "Industrial linings are essential for protecting equipment and minimising downtime," says Ramani. "Our rubber linings provide an unmatched barrier against corrosion, extreme temperatures, and chemical exposure, safeguarding critical machinery such as storage tanks and reactors." These solutions enhance operational efficiency and extend equipment life, reducing waste and promoting sustainable industrial practices. The durability of rubber linings, which require less frequent replacement, makes them a cost-effective and environmentally responsible choice.
Reflecting on Jasmino's recent acquisitions, Ramani underscores the strategic benefits these bring. "Our acquisition of HAW Lining, a 125-yearold pioneer in rubber linings, grants us access to one of Europe's largest equipment manufacturing facilities, spanning 120,000 square metres, including the world's most extensive anti-corrosion lining shop floor," he says. Additionally, the acquisition of GBT Buecolit strengthens Jasmino's foothold in Europe, offering advanced coatings, plastic linings, and turnkey solutions. With subsidiaries and partners across multiple European countries, Jasmino is now poised to deliver comprehensive engineering solutions on a global scale.
In India, Jasmino is investing in significant expansion, acquiring 20 acres of land in the Khalapur Khopoli area to establish a state-of-the-art facility combining lining and equipment manufacturing operations. "This will be a pivotal global hub for us," Ramani affirms.
Internationally, Jasmino is strategically entering Saudi Arabia, where industrial diversification beyond oil and gas is driving demand for corrosion protection solutions. The company's partnership with the AlSuhaimi Group facilitates its entry into this market and neighbouring regions. Similarly, rising manufacturing costs and skilled labour shortages in Europe provide an opportunity for Jasmino to offer cost-effective, high-quality turnkey solutions. The Australian mining sector is also on the company's radar, with plans to establish an office to tap into emerging opportunities.
Discussing Jasmino's role in India's Flue Gas Desulfurisation (FGD) mandate for thermal power plants, Ramani highlights the critical function of rubber linings in ensuring compliance and sustainability. "FGD systems are vital for reducing sulfur dioxide emissions, which contribute to air pollution and climate change," he states. The Absorber, a key FGD component, is exposed to highly corrosive conditions, making rubber linings essential for long-term protection. "Our linings can last up to 20 years, significantly reducing maintenance costs and enhancing plant efficiency," he adds. By extending the operational lifespan of FGD systems, Jasmino is directly contributing to India's transition towards cleaner energy practices and its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.
Operating across diverse markets, Jasmino has encountered unique challenges, particularly in gaining acceptance in Europe, where Indian engineering firms were often perceived as cost-effective alternatives rather than equal peers. "We overcame this by forging strategic joint ventures and acquiring a respected German brand, which significantly enhanced our credibility," says Ramani. In contrast, the Middle East has presented a highly favourable business environment, with supportive policies and strong trade ties with India. "The region's open-border policies and ease of doing business make it a key growth market for us," he notes.
Looking ahead, Ramani identifies several key trends shaping the future of the industry. "The demand for high-performance anti-corrosive linings is growing, driven by stricter environmental regulations and rapid industrial expansion," he observes. As industries transition towards sustainable operations, Jasmino is leveraging its research and development capabilities to offer solutions that not only enhance durability but also reduce resource consumption and waste. "Our goal is to lead the industry by developing linings that provide superior protection while aligning with global sustainability objectives," he asserts.
With a legacy of over 3,000 completed projects for esteemed clients such as the Adani Group, Reliance Industries, HPCL, IOCL, and NTPC, Jasmino has consistently demonstrated its expertise in delivering high impact solutions. "One of our most challenging yet rewarding projects involved..." Ramani begins, ready to recount some of the company's landmark achievements that underscore its engineering prowess and commitment to excellence.
