Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd.'s Plant-13 Annexe Building at its Vikhroli campus in Mumbai has won the CII-National Energy Efficiency Award for ‘Excellent Energy Efficiency Unit' in the Building Sector.
Out of the 84 nominations in the Building Sector, 27 were shortlisted to present at the national level Summit. Of these, only 16 have been judged as Excellent Energy Efficiency Units and 11 as Energy Efficient Units. The Excellent Energy Efficient Unit award was given to the Godrej Pl-13 Annexe building and the process of certification covered all the dimensions of ‘Energy Performance' and the ‘Renewable Energy Sources'. Demonstration of improvements in lighting, cooling, equipment efficiency and effective system control through BMS (Building Management System) & EMS (Energy Management System) added to the already stellar performance of the facility.
Speaking on the occasion, George Menezes, COO, Godrej Electrical & Electronics said, "When it comes to the environment and nature, we at Godrej stand deeply committed to its wellbeing. It runs through the DNA of our organization. Our Energy Conservation (Encon) team and Green Building Consulting Services (GBCS) vertical has been working closely with CII to promote the concept of energy efficiency and green buildings in India, and is their lead partner, advising various clients across industries. Godrej has demonstrated thought leadership in sustainability by way of promoting the concept across the industry."
Plant - 13 Annexe is a multiple use office cum convention centre located in the Godrej campus at Vikhroli, Mumbai. Over the years, this building has demonstrated the highest standards of performance and has won many accolades like the ‘IGBC-EB Platinum Rating' under the ‘Existing Building' certification and the ‘BEE 5-Star Rating' which further conforms the building to a ‘Minimum Energy Performance'. In 2019 it received IGBC Net Zero Rating, (first in India) and Energy performance award.
