Steelbird Helmets, a pioneering force in the industry, has set forth a target to produce 10 million helmets during the fiscal year 2023-24.

Steelbird intends to escalate its manufacturing capacity, targeting an output of 40,000 helmets daily within the next 18 months. This expansion is a direct response to the escalating demand for top-tier helmets, driven by a growing global awareness of road safety.

Steelbird stands as the sole Indian entity geared to manufacture ECE-certified helmets, a qualification essential for accessing the European market. This certification underscores not just Steelbird's dedication to safety but its adherence to global standards.

Rajeev Kapur, Managing Director, Steelbird HiTech, stated, "We have embarked on a transformative journey that encompasses cutting-edge technology, including the full automation of our helmet manufacturing facilities in Baddi & Noida. We have introduced robotic visor coating facilities and an automated paint shop with an incredible capacity to paint 10 shells in just 60 seconds."

He continued, " With an investment of Rs 150 crore in these dynamic expansions, we are extending our existing manufacturing facility in Baddi. We have allocated a substantial Capex of Rs 105 crore to fuel these ongoing expansions. Our aim is crystal clear - to redefine the standards of helmet manufacturing and provide riders with the utmost in quality, safety, and innovation."

With the helmet industry projected to witness remarkable growth of 13.2 per cent, Steelbird is a singular brand compliant with the ECE 22.06 standards mandatory for helmet manufacturers in Europe.
