Indofast Energy, India's largest battery-swapping network, has partnered with Green Tiger Mobility, a leading two-wheeler (2W) retrofit player, to accelerate India's transition to electric mobility. This game-changing partnership tackles India's 300 million+ petrol two-wheelers head-on, offering an affordable, seamless, and eco-friendly retrofit solution. This initiative will make EV adoption seamless, cost-effective, and accessible for millions of riders across the country.
This innovative solution allows riders to seamlessly transition from petrol to electric by retrofitting their existing two-wheeler with Green Tiger Mobility's ARAI-approved conversion solutions. Once converted, riders can access Indofast Energy's extensive battery-swapping network, eliminating concerns about range anxiety and long charging times.
To ensure a hassle-free transition, the offering includes RTO approvals, insurance, and other regulatory requirements at a fixed cost. Additionally, the conversion process is made financially accessible, which means riders can convert their vehicle with a small down payment and pay the remaining amount through manageable EMIs, which can be covered by the savings from switching to electric. This ensures that the vehicle pays for itself, making EV adoption easier and more economical than ever. Currently the solution is available for the top 11 highest-selling 2W scooter models, viz. Hero (Maestro & Pleasure), Honda (Activa, Aviator, Dio and Cliq), Suzuki (Access & Swish), TVS (Jupiter & Wego), and Yamaha (Fascino).
The offering is already available in Bangalore and will be launched in Delhi NCR by May. The same will be made available to the rest of the country in the next 12 to 15 months. Initially, the focus will be on quick commerce delivery executives, ensuring they have an affordable and sustainable alternative to petrol-powered vehicles. The solution will then be extended to the mass market, making EV conversion accessible to all.
By integrating Green Tiger's retrofit technology with Indofast Energy's extensive swapping network, the partnership aims to make EV adoption effortless and accessible for millions of Indians.
Rajat Malhan, Senior Vice President, Indofast Energy, said, "Imagine your reliable petrol scooter, reborn as a sleek, battery-swappable EV. No new vehicle purchase, just a smart, sustainable upgrade! This partnership is a significant step towards green mobility for a cleaner India while reducing fuel costs, cutting emissions, and supporting India's EV adoption goals. We look forward to the change this partnership will bring in the lives of millions of gig workers."
Ashish Dokania, Founder, Green Tiger Mobility, said, "At Green Tiger, we believe the future of mobility is not just about new electric vehicles but about transforming millions of petrol two-wheelers already on our roads.
