Technology, innovations, trends, R&D, and knowledge sharing related to the field of forming technology was buzzing at International Seminar on Forming Technology (ISFT 2018) organized by Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) on 24th January 2018 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bengaluru.
The rapid technology transition of the forming industry in India and worldwide was showcased at ISFT 2018 which received an enthusiastic response from over 300 delegates that participated in the seminar.
The seminar broadly focused on the changing trends in metal forming processes with the advent of increasing use of composites, electric vehicles and light-weighting. Maturing of hot forming, tube hydroforming, roll forming and flow forming were also discussed.
The seminar began with the inaugural keynote address by Dr. Dirk Landgrebe, Director of the Department of Forming Technology and Joining Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming.
In his session on "Latest Trends in Manufacturing Technology for increasing use of Composites in Aerospace and Automotive Sector", Dr. Landgrebe threw light on the latest developments in aerospace and automotive sector and stressed upon the strategic approaches to meet future challenges especially in the field of forming technology.
