Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (HMCL), the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, further consolidated its leadership position with yet another six lakh-plus monthly sales in 2016. Sustaining the momentum it has built up over the past few months with its highest ever quarter sales in Q1 FY '17, Hero MotoCorp sold 616,424 units of two-wheelers in August 2016 - a growth of 28 percent over the corresponding month last year when the company had sold 480,537 units.

This is the third time this year that the company has surpassed the six lakh sales mark.

In addition to strengthening its leadership in the 100-110cc motorcycle category with the recent launch of Splendor iSmart 110, Hero has also further consolidated its leadership in the 125cc space with the largest selling motorcycle in the segment ‘Glamour'. The company also witnessed positive sales growth in the scooter segment. 

The company plans to launch 15 new products across segments in its domestic and global markets this fiscal, out of which three motorcycles will be introduced in the domestic market before the festive season. These include the new Achiever 150cc motorcycle and the Super Splendor and Passion PRO with the Hero patented i3S technology.

In keeping with its on-going national drive to inculcate road safety and good riding habits among the youth of the country, Hero MotoCorp inaugurated a Traffic Training Park in Nagpur in August. Hero has six Traffic Training Parks across the country.
