India has an invigorating lever by way of a 48 percent increase in FDI against the global average coming down to 16 percent. To achieve India's ambition of a double digit growth figure, this advantage can be leveraged by providing a strong push to the incubation centres and research parks.
He further added that "Manufacturing is no more a dark, dirty and dangerous job, but an extremely fashionable one. Let us not fear the onset of Manufacturing 4.0." Indian industry should embrace the integration of digital technologies with manufacturing processes and for achieving the same, we need to reorient our education system.
Lauding ISB for taking the steps forward, he stated, "Intelligent automated manufacturing will create a new job market and the programme started by ISB is very unique one. It will enable India to manufacture young innovators who will propel India to achieve potential growth rate at a much faster rate."
Setting the context for the discussion, Sunil Kant Munjal said, "India's 12 point jump in the ease of doing business ranking is going to be the biggest game changer. There is an ever increasing need for integrating Indian manufacturing sector with the global supply chain."
On the issue of Indian products being viewed as reliable products in the world market, A Didar Singh, stated that the Make in India campaign has brought a marked change in the brand India image, and the three stages-branding, policy reform and implementation- which can further in building India's image should be implemented simultaneously.
