Evolves DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management Software) from individual data centers to cover full, hybrid IT environment.

Global energy management and automation leader, Schneider Electric, has announced the revamp of its EcoStruxure IT software lineup. This upgrade addresses the escalating complexity of hybrid IT infrastructures, providing advanced solutions for monitoring and managing sprawling digital environments.

As the IT landscape evolves, ensuring business continuity hinges on the performance of every component, from endpoints to large data centers. This shift has elevated the importance of edge deployments to mission-critical status, paralleling centralised data centers. To ensure resilience and security, novel software capabilities are vital.

Furthermore, seeing sustainability as a pivotal concern, internal projections from Schneider Electric predict that by 2040, data centers will account for 2,700 TWh of energy consumption, with 60 per cent stemming from distributed sites and 40 per cent from central data centers.

Recognising that DCIM software falls short in addressing these multifaceted needs, Schneider Electric is investing in EcoStruxure IT. This modernised solution enhances the oversight, management, planning, and modeling of IT physical infrastructure. Flexible deployment options, including on-premises and cloud-based solutions, cater to hybrid IT environments, spanning from a few sites to a global network.

Kevin Brown, Senior Vice President, EcoStruxure Solutions, Secure Power, Schneider Electric, noted, "The hybrid IT environment is challenging even the most sophisticated CIO organisation with maintaining the resiliency, security, and sustainability of their IT systems. We call this trend DCIM 3.0."

Sachin Bhalla, VP, Secure Power Division, India and SAARC, Schneider Electric, emphasised the relevance of this advancement for the Indian IT industry. With the sector contributing 7.4 per cent to India's GDP, the demand for resilient, secure, and sustainable IT infrastructure is paramount. DCIM 3.0 emerges as a robust energy solution, spanning IT whitespace from core to cloud and edge.
