Dalmia Bharat to invest Rs 758 Cr in Jharkhand

To add a capacity of 2.6 MTPA which will take the overall capacity of the unit to 6.3 MTPA

Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited will invest a total of Rs 758 crore in Jharkhand that includes setting up a grinding unit in Bokaro with an investment of Rs 567 crore to add a capacity of 2.6 MTPA which will take the overall capacity of the unit to 6.3 MTPA.

Meanwhile, to reduce the carbon footprint, the company has invested Rs 250 crore to establish a solar power plant and Rs 8 crore to set up Material Recover Facility and Legacy Waste-Bio Mining activity for solid waste management under Ranchi Municipal Corporation.

Mahendra Singhi, MD and CEO of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd said, "The commissioning of the Bokaro unit in the region is a key milestone as the company has embarked on a larger journey of increasing its cement manufacturing capacity from 33 million tonnes currently to reaching 48.5 million tonnes by 2024."
