Magna expands in India with new state-of-the-art facility in Chakan

This state-of-the-art facility spans 65,000 sq. ft. and is dedicated to producing advanced latches and mirrors for automotive applications, primarily supporting customers in western India.

Magna, one of the world's largest automotive suppliers and a leading mobility technology company, has officially opened its new manufacturing facility in Chakan, Maharashtra. This state-of-the-art facility spans 65,000 sq. ft. and is dedicated to producing advanced latches and mirrors for automotive applications, primarily supporting customers in western India.

Magna currently employs 7,000 people across India, operating 14 manufacturing and assembly facilities, as well as five engineering, product, and sales offices. This latest expansion is expected to create over 300 new jobs in the next three years, contributing to the local economy and fostering industrial growth in the region.

The inauguration ceremony yesterday featured a traditional puja for blessings, followed by a formal ribbon-cutting and plaque unveiling by Jeff Hunt, President of Magna MML (Mechatronics, Mirrors, and Lighting), alongside the local leadership team and other Magna representatives. The event celebrated the dedication and hard work of everyone involved in bringing this facility to life.
