Wipro Limited, a leading technology services and consulting company, has collaborated with FORVIA (FRVIA), the world's seventh-largest automotive technology supplier, to optimise FORVIA's Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) applications.

FORVIA utilised Wipro Engineering Edge's Cloud Car building blocks, including microservices and vehicle container architecture components, to improve its vehicle safety and comfort applications.

FORVIA's ADAS applications are now largely hardware-independent, have reduced maintenance costs, and are seamlessly integrated into Original Equipment Manufacturers' (OEM) value chains thanks to the underlying cloud-native architecture.

The project also included FORVIA's innovative surround-view technology, which combines exterior camera views into an immersive 3D perspective, assisting drivers with safe and easy parking.

All functions within FORVIA's ADAS application set have been transitioned to a loosely connected, service-oriented microservice architecture. This update has significantly reduced software development lifecycle (SDLC) costs, allowing FORVIA to market its ADAS features independently and combine them effortlessly with other ADAS functions from customers or third parties.

Graziella Neuvéglise, Regional Head & Managing Director, Southern Europe, Wipro Limited, stated, "We're very pleased with the outcome of this work for FORVIA. This project demonstrates our strong and diverse expertise in the Software Defined Vehicle area, working with automotive leaders to drive growth and reimagine safety and entertainment features using cloud-native engineering principles. We're excited to continue supporting FORVIA's ambitions."

Vanessa Picron, Electronics Europe Division VP at FORVIA, added, "Within the software transformation of the automotive industry, moving to microservices and container architecture is a key lever for delivering more competitive, easily integrated functions to our customers and expanding our business with new software-only solutions, including safety-critical features. This successful partnership with Wipro reflects our shared vision and complementary strengths."

The agreement was signed in Q1 FY24.
