The new fleet is also fitted with a Tail Guarding System, designed to prevent reverse collisions by eliminating blind spots.

DP World, a leading global provider of smart, end-to-end supply chain solutions, has taken another major step in enhancing operational safety and efficiency with its new fleet of prime movers, equipped with advanced Electronic Stability Control (ESC).

This industry-first initiative reflects DP World's commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to deliver secure and reliable supply chain solutions, and it represents a significant advancement in ensuring driver safety and well-being on the road. ESC technology provides enhanced stability, helping drivers remain safe and in control even in challenging road and weather conditions.

The new fleet is also fitted with a Tail Guarding System, designed to prevent reverse collisions by eliminating blind spots. Using proximity sensors, this system can stop the vehicle when necessary, making operations safer and more efficient. By implementing these advanced safety features, DP World is creating a safer working environment for its drivers and demonstrating its commitment to operational excellence and employee welfare.

Speaking on this development, Ravinder Johal, Chief Operating Officer, Ports & Terminals, Operations & Commercial, Middle East, North Africa & Subcontinent at DP World, commented, "At DP World, the safety and security of our cargo and truckers are our top priorities. By incorporating advanced technology in our new fleet of trucks, we proudly support the government's vision for enhanced road safety. We are committed to continuously improving our safety standards, protecting our drivers, and reducing the potential impact of accidents. We believe this approach will inspire wider adoption of safety practices across the industry."

The introduction of prime movers equipped with ESC, combined with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), significantly enhances vehicle safety and performance. ESC automatically corrects sideways drift during overtaking, adjusts engine torque, and applies selective braking to maintain stability in turns. This feature is especially beneficial in adverse weather, offering optimal control and safety on slippery roads.

Alongside ESC and Tail Guarding Systems, the new trucks are equipped with Hill-Start Assist (HSA) and Automatic Traction Control (ATC), further boosting safety. HSA prevents the truck from rolling back on inclines, while ATC provides better grip on slippery surfaces, reducing accident risks and protecting cargo from damage caused by sudden movements.
