Uses the DFT technology, which results in huge cost-savings and better productivity

APL Apollo Tubes Limited (APL Apollo) has announced that it has started commercial production of India's largest Hollow Section pipes, measuring 300 mm x 300 mm in size, at its Raipur facility.

The production of hollow sections was achieved through the newly commissioned Direct Forming Technology (DFT) line and makes APL Apollo the sole manufacturer of 300 mm x 300 mm pipe size in India, supporting the Government's ‘Make in India' initiative and creating a significant opportunity to replace most imports.

Commenting on the development, Sanjay Gupta, Chairman APL Apollo Tubes Ltd., said, "We have been pioneers in our industry for introducing the most innovative designs and sizes. With DFT, we can now customize as per order and make any sizes between 12 mm x 12 mm to 300 mm x 300 mm in Hollow Sections. This development will provide a strong impetus to our volume growth plans and also complement the Central Government's vision of ‘Make in India'."
