Recently, BHEL also forayed into two other countries in Africa, Togo and Benin. BHEL is making concerted efforts to tap available opportunities in the overseas market. Currently, the company is focusing on expanding its global presence through market expansion and market penetration. The company is favourably placed in opportunities in Africa including a Combined Cycle Power Plant in Tanzania and a Hydro Power Plant in Zimbabwe. These projects are nearing financial closure and BHEL expects to secure these orders soon. The company is also focussing on providing after sales support to its customers in existing overseas projects.
