Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL) and Russian Federal Test Centre (FTC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for development of smart grid technologies, renewables, and for energy efficiency and conservation. The MoU was signed at St. Petersburg, Russia, by Arup Ghosh, senior advisor, TPDDL, and Alexander Duzhinov, director general, FTC.
The MOU paves the way for scientific and technical cooperation between the parties in the field of development of smart grid technologies, renewables, energy efficiency and conservation. The document foresees participation of TPDDL in the development of an R&D and engineering centre of FTC. The parties also expressed their intention to implement joint R&D projects in Russia, India and other countries regarding development of smart grid technologies.
On signing of the MoU, Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD, TPDDL, said, "Today, sharing of knowledge and best practices, including smart grid technologies, are integral to the overall development of the power sector. I am sure our commitment to explore collaboration with FTC will further strengthen the technological advancement in the field of electricity distribution and implementation of joint R&D projects in Russia, India and other developing countries."
