Twenty Four (24) States have passed the State GST (SGST) Act till 5th June, 2017 while 7 States viz. Meghalaya, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir and West Bengal have yet to pass the State GST (SGST) Act .

Telangana was the first state to pass the Act, on 9th April 2017. The latest state to join the SGST bandwagon is Manipur, which passed the act on June 5, 2017. The State of Maharashtra passed the SGST act on May 22, 2017.
