To launch special automotive engineering programme.

When industry and academia work in tandem to push the frontiers of knowledge coupled with real time applications, they become a powerful engine for innovation and value creation leading to higher economic growth. This initiative aims to bridge the gap of the automotive industry requirements and academics.

The course is designed into two parts - technical orientation delivered through class room sessions and on-the-job training in state-of-the-art engineering, design, manufacturing & customer support facilities in Tata Motors. Students will be mentored and guided by industry leaders and will also engage with Tata Motors for practice sessions wherein they would work with the Company for six months on significant business projects.

This will help in enhancing their practical knowledge, thus improving their skill levels. Further to periodic assessment and on successful completion of the programme, a certificate will be awarded jointly by BITS, Pilani and Tata Motors Ltd.

Recognizing the scope to further strengthen its talent base, this partnership will involve Tata Motors' employees to further develop their skills. It will help the company to not only build its functional expertise and provide developmental opportunities for its employees, but also contribute to strengthening the industry readiness of the talent stepping out of campuses through curricula building, live projects and various engagement activities.

Under Horizonext, Tata Motors has clearly charted its technology roadmap. The Company has identified areas of excellence and to meet these requirement, it plans to create talent pool and be the destination for automotive engineering professionals.
