The fourth edition of IPTEX and second edition GRINDEX, aims to bring the focus on the Gear Engineering & Grinding Technology. The expo will be held from March 3 to 5, 2016, in Mumbai.

A view from the previous edition

Industry overview
Gears are the primary drivers for power transmission requirement and will continue to remain so for the near future. Most of India's requirements are manufactured indigenously with the exception of few segments like marine, defense and Wind energy.

Customers demand better performance, lower cost .light weight, better efficiency and less noise. Increasingly customers are also demanding condition monitoring and want to predict failures in advance. These factors are driving product innovation, newer materials and heat treatment processes.

The customer demands are forcing manufacturers to bring innovative technologies. For example the Gear boxes are becoming light weight while transmitting more torque with increased efficiencies. The large Indian market approximating Rs2500 crore provides the right breeding ground for new technologies and new innovations. Increased collaboration between key players is essential for new technology development.

The Indian market is growing approximately at the rate of GDP growth rate. The Indian frugal manufacturing skills are bringing down prices without compromising on efficiencies. Key segments like steel, cement, mining, pulp & paper, marine, rubber and plastics use a lot of gears. Gears will continue to be the preferred choice for power transmission requirement of customers for the next 25 years and the Indian industry is poised to reach greater heights.

Technical seminar
A technical seminar on - ‘Modern technology trends for gears, heat treatment and grinding' - will be held along with the expo on March 3rd and 04th. The seminar brings together speakers from well-known national and international companies to share their expertise and latest developments in gears, heat treatment and grinding technology. Visitors will have an opportunity to interact directly with the speakers to enhance their knowledge.
