Thermo Fisher Scientific officially opened a new 350,000 square foot facility in Fremont, California. The facility develops and manufactures innovative technologies for diagnostic testing and quality controls that are used in healthcare and other markets.

"We're committed to making investments in R&D and manufacturing that strengthen our position as the world leader in serving science so we can continue to grow and support our employees and the local community."
Thermo Fisher designed the Niche Diagnostics Center of Excellence with a focus on energy efficiency, sustainability and community stewardship. Building features include low-flow fixtures facility-wide, charging stations for electric vehicles and a highly efficient HVAC system. Across the Bay Area, Thermo Fisher employees currently take part in community service activities, already logging more than 900 hours so far in 2014.
