BGR Tech Ltd., a Prenora holding energy engineering company, has unveiled its 100 kW Hydrogen Purification System, designed to enhance electrolysis-based hydrogen purification. The launch was led by Bhupender Bhalla, Former Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, highlighting the nation's commitment to clean energy technologies.
BGR Tech's cutting-edge purification system delivers 99.999 per cent pure, fuel-cell-grade hydrogen. This highly efficient system is capable of high-pressure operations of up to 30 bar and features a modular design with a wide range of scalability options, offering customised solutions for diverse applications. The purified hydrogen is suitable for various uses, including as fuel for fuel cells and combustion engines, as well as in industrial processes such as steel annealing. This innovative system represents the future of energy, offering an efficient and versatile solution for hydrogen utilisation. It also boasts a plug-and-play design, enabling seamless manufacturing and on-site commissioning without extensive fabrication.
At the launch, Bhupender Bhalla emphasised the system's potential to bolster India's hydrogen economy: "Over the next five years, India's green hydrogen manufacturing sector has significant potential for growth and increased competitiveness. To realise this, I encourage the industry to focus on developing core competencies. I also advise BGR Tech, under the leadership of Managing Director Priya, to broaden its portfolio beyond hydrogen to include other promising gas-based fields such as biogas, methanol, and green ammonia. These steps will ensure BGR Tech's future growth and its contribution to India's technological advancement."
Parthiban S., Head of Business Development at BGR Tech, added: "At BGR Tech, we focus on reducing the energy consumption of our systems to compete globally. We are also building a green hydrogen market using predominantly Indian-made parts. BGR Tech is committed to helping India achieve its 2030 zero-carbon goals."
BGR Tech Ltd. is a key player in engineering and manufacturing specialised process equipment, leveraging its in-house capabilities and strategic partnerships. By collaborating with global leaders in electrolyser and process technology, the company is dedicated to advancing hydrogen production and supporting decarbonisation efforts.
