Cosimo Cereda, Sales Director at Marposs, spoke with enthusiasm about the company's latest innovations and their presence in emerging markets. Reflecting on the products showcased this year at IMTEX 2025, Cereda emphasised Marposs's forward-thinking approach to product development. "At Marposs, we are a company that is ahead of development, creating products aligned with new trends and market demands. Electric Vehicles (EVs) and the medical sector are particularly important for us," he said.
Cereda elaborated on some of their recent advancements, such as enhanced control systems for machining. "For example, we've developed the ability to detect when tools will break during machining. It may seem like a simple thing, but it's crucial. Without such systems, you risk producing minutes or even hours of faulty parts, leading to significant costs and equipment damage. Our systems prevent all that—avoiding costs, avoiding problems," he explained.
He also highlighted innovations tailored to the specific needs of the EV industry. "Electric vehicles demand higher precision, especially in gearboxes, which must operate more silently and at higher speeds. Our advanced systems can measure and control the production of gears with exceptional accuracy, addressing these challenges head-on," he said. Additionally, Cereda mentioned their contributions to the medical sector. "Our Solarios products, for instance, allow for the precise measurement of special surfaces, ensuring they meet exact requirements for medical applications," he added.
When asked about the new markets Marposs is exploring, Cereda noted the growing importance of the medical and electronics sectors. "Apart from our traditional markets like automotive, aerospace, and mechanical components, the medical field is booming. It's becoming more technical, with opportunities in areas like diagnostic devices, dermatology systems, and implants," he said. He also pointed to electronics as a rapidly expanding sector. "Electronics production involves much smaller and faster machining systems, and we're focusing on areas like chip production and wafer grinding, where we are presenting specialised products," Cereda shared.
Regarding Marposs's plans for the Indian market, Cereda expressed a strong commitment to localisation and growth. "Marposs began its journey in India in 2008, and since then, a lot has happened. India is the fastest-growing market, and we understand its importance. We are now combining our capacity to innovate globally with the ability to produce locally," he said. Cereda explained that establishing Marposs as a local producer in India offers two key advantages. "Firstly, we can adapt to local needs more effectively. Secondly, we can create tailor-made solutions onsite, which is difficult to achieve from afar," he noted.
To support this localisation strategy, Marposs has established six offices across India, forming an extensive sales and technical support network. "Expanding our service and technical capabilities is one of our main projects. For now, with six offices across India's main regions, we're building a solid foundation for future growth," Cereda concluded.
