IMTEX has been a leader in manufacturing innovation for over 50 years and is set to host its largest edition yet in 2025, featuring over 1,100 exhibitors and a digital manufacturing pavilion.In an interview with ET NOW Machinist, Rajendra S. Rajamane, President of IMTMA, highlights the importance of IMTEX, its plans to build on 2023's successes, and its global impact on Industry 4.0, additive manufacturing, and digital transformation.
IMTEX has an incredible legacy spanning more than five decades. What innovations and technologies can visitors and exhibitors expect at IMTEX 2025?
IMTEX has a legacy of over five decades, showcasing the evolution of technologies in the manufacturing industry. From traditional machinery to CNC machines and contemporary digital manufacturing, the exhibition has consistently highlighted cutting-edge innovations. IMTEX 2025 will be its largest edition yet, featuring over 1,100 exhibitors across 90,000 square metres in eight halls. As a benchmark event, it will present the latest advancements in the machine tool sector, alongside a dedicated pavilion on digital manufacturing, showcasing 3D laser scanners, IIoT solutions, 3D printers, and more.
IMTEX is considered a go-to event for the machine and tooling industry. In your opinion, what makes this event indispensable for industry professionals and businesses?
IMTEX serves as a learning hub for manufacturing professionals and businesses. Each edition offers valuable insights, with live demonstrations of conventional machines, CNC systems, and the latest digital manufacturing solutions. Visitors can experience these technologies first-hand, helping them make informed procurement decisions. IMTEX 2025 will also host the International Seminar on Machining Technologies, providing a platform for stakeholders to learn about global trends in manufacturing from international experts.
The 2023 edition of IMTEX was a major success. How do you plan to build on that momentum, and what learnings from 2023 are being implemented for 2025? What initiatives are being taken this year to ensure diverse and impactful participation from across the globe?
IMTEX 2023 marked a significant recovery for the exhibition and manufacturing industries post-pandemic. To build on this success, IMTEX has been promoted in countries such as Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and the USA through India opportunities sessions. IMTEX 2025 will include additional attractions such as the Auto Components Industry Transformation Summit and the JMTBA Seminar on Export Controls for Japanese Machine Tools, ensuring a more diverse and impactful global participation.
With the concurrent show Tooltech and special pavilions on Industry 4.0 and additive manufacturing, how do these additions enhance the experience for exhibitors and attendees?
Tooltech will showcase the latest advancements in tools and dies. The Industry 4.0 pavilion will feature IoT-enabled machine tools, intelligent systems, collaborative robots, autonomous mobile robots, and more. Visitors can explore CAD/CAM, FEA, modelling, and simulation tools for virtual product development and shorter product life cycles. Digitalisation tools, additive manufacturing technologies, hybrid machines, and virtual factories will also be on display. Visitors will benefit from augmented and virtual reality technologies for installation, training, and demonstrations.
Digital manufacturing is transforming the machine tool industry. How is IMTEX 2025 catering to this shift, and what can visitors expect in the Digital Manufacturing pavilion?
The Digital Manufacturing pavilion will showcase next-generation technologies shaping the future of the industry. As the President of IMTMA, what is your vision for the future of IMTEX, and how do you see it continuing to contribute to the growth of the manufacturing and machine tool industry globally?
Our vision is to position IMTEX as Asia's leading machine tool and manufacturing technology exhibition. The event will remain a catalyst for fostering trade and strengthening business relations across Asia while supporting India's drive for self-reliance in manufacturing.
