“Elektrobit unveils EB corbos Linux SDK on AWS Marketplace to propel cloud-first automotive development”

Elektrobit, an AWS Automotive Software Competency Partner, has announced the launch of its EB corbos Linux SDK, built on the Ubuntu operating system, as an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) on AWS Marketplace. This open-source OS is tailored for embedded automotive use cases, enabling the development of next-generation systems based on high-performance computing (HPC).

The EB corbos Linux SDK provides automotive engineers and software architects with a free basic OS and SDK, empowering them to use AWS's robust build machines to create custom OS images in the cloud. This supports the acceleration of software-defined vehicle (SDV) development and innovation.

By leveraging Ubuntu, EB corbos Linux introduces the world's largest embedded Linux development community to automotive engineering, meeting stringent security and regulatory requirements while ensuring long-term maintenance. Its AWS Marketplace availability allows automakers to initiate projects in minutes, collaborate remotely, and emulate software and hardware on Amazon EC2 instances powered by the Arm-based AWS Graviton processor family.

"EB corbos Linux offers the perfect blend of open-source advantages and automotive qualification, helping vehicle manufacturers and suppliers build advanced new architectures," said Yu Fang, co-founder, CTO, and Chief Product Officer at Sonatus.

Mike Robertson, Chief Product Officer and Managing Director at Elektrobit, added, "The EB corbos Linux SDK AMI enables agile, cloud-based development workflows, allowing OEMs to shift testing, quality, and performance evaluations earlier in the process for faster delivery of value to customers."

In addition, the EB corbos AdaptiveCore, based on Adaptive AUTOSAR middleware, provides essential features for SDV platforms, including multi-OS support, vehicle communication, diagnostics management, and access control. The upcoming release of EB corbos Linux for Safety Applications will further expand Elektrobit's cloud offerings, bringing ASIL B/SIL 2-compliant solutions for safety-critical applications.
