Vivek Bhide, Regional President, India, and Group Transformation Officer of John Cockerill India Limited, has been appointed as the President of Indo-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBLCCI), succeeding Mukesh Malhotra, Country Manager and Managing director of Syensqo India.
As the 61st President of IBLCCI, Bhide will play a crucial role in fostering economic growth and collaboration among member nations. Bhide's appointment coincides with IBLCCI's 60th anniversary celebrations.
The event was graced by the presence of H.E. Didier Vanderhasselt, Ambassador of Belgium to India, and Frank Geerkens, Consul General of Belgium. Dr. Sharmila Amin - Managing Director South Asia-India at Bertling Logistics India, and Vasant Pathak, Vice President of NABROS Transport Pvt. Ltd., were re-elected as Vice Presidents of the IBLCCI.
Speaking on the appointment, Vivek Bhide said, "I am honored to take on the role of President of the Indo-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Strengthening business and trade relations among nations is crucial for mutual economic growth, and we shall continue to find ways to expand them. Together, we will look to drive collaboration, innovation, and growth to deepen trade relationships between the member countries."
With an experience of over 34 years in the chemicals and industrial manufacturing industry and an understanding of Indian and international markets, Bhide will strengthen Indo-Belgian-Luxembourg economic partnership. Before joining John Cockerill, Bhide worked in process engineering and R&D at DuPont in the US.
He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, and a Master of Science in Statistics from the University of Delaware, USA. Additionally, Bhide has a Certificate in Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business School.
