“Daimler India Commercial Vehicles inaugurates Mechatronics lab”

Dailmer India Commercial Vehicles, a wholly-owned branch of Daimler Truck AG announced the inauguration of the new Mechatronics Lab in its Oragadam facility. The lab enables 70 per cent  to 80% cost reduction , improvements in software feature functionality verification and validation and identification and resolution of software bugs through a close-loop feedback system.

DICV's lab verifies and validates software feature functionality for trucks and buses. Amongst the many benefits of the Mechatronics lab are enhanced efficiency, safety and performance of its trucks and buses and simulation confirmation of rare fault cases. The new lab has introduced advanced safety features like AEBS, Blind Spot Assist, Driver Drowsiness Alert, and Lane Departure warning.

Dilip Shrivastava, Head of Mechatronics and Software Technology, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, gave insights into the new Mechatronics lab stating that it can verify and validate 300 features, surrounding over a thousand signals within 10 days and can verify 600 fault codes in a developing product just within few weeks.
