“KR Fuels receives approval for two-wheeler Auto LPG Retrofitment on BS4 Vehicles”

KR Fuels, a leader in the Auto LPG industry, has announced that it has received the approval for LPG retrofitment in two-wheelers on BS4 vehicles. This milestone makes KR Fuels the first and only company in India to achieve this certification, marking a significant step forward in sustainable transportation solutions.

KR Fuels manufactures all components for the LPG retrofitment kits at their state-of-the-art facility in Trichy. The kits include a 5-litre tank, ECU (Electronic Control Unit) for scooters, wiring harnesses and injectors, all produced in-house with robotic arms from Germany ensuring precision and quality. With all statutory authorisations and certifications in order, KR Fuels is now ready to roll out these kits across India.

Sharing his excitement, Suyash Gupta, Director General, Indian Auto LPG Coalition, said, "We are thrilled to witness KR Fuels receiving approval for two-wheelers Auto LPG retrofitment on BS4 vehicles. This significant milestone not only underscores the potential of Auto LPG as a cleaner, greener alternative to conventional fuels but also represents a crucial step towards reducing vehicular emissions across India. With over 25 million two-wheelers in Tamil Nadu alone, the impact on air quality could be substantial. Moreover, we urge the government to consider reducing the GST on these kits from the current 28 per cent to five per cent, which would make them more accessible to consumers and bolster the Make in India initiative. This approval is a testament to the dedication and innovation at KR Fuels and the resilience of Auto LPG industry in India. We look forward to seeing the positive environmental and economic impacts unfold."

KR Fuels has already commenced production, with an initial batch of 8,000 tanks ready for distribution. The company operates 73 auto LPG stations and seven retrofitment centres across Tamil Nadu, ensuring that customers have easy access to these eco-friendly conversion kits. The kits are priced between Rs 9,500 and Rs 10,500, with the all-inclusive cost coming to around Rs 15,500.

Karthigeyan, CEO of KR Fuels, voiced his enthusiasm, "We have always prioritised innovation and sustainability. The approval for two-wheeler LPG retrofitment validates our commitment. Our kits, manufactured with advanced technology and precision, provide an economical and environmentally friendly solution for the Indian market. We are also seeking approval for BS6 vehicles, which will further expand our offerings. This approval enables us to present a greener alternative for two-wheeler owners in India. Our LPG conversion kits are not only cost-effective but also play a crucial role in reducing vehicular emissions."
