“Advancing Regional Manufacturing with Global Precision Standard”

Brother Machine Tools, a global leader in precision engineering, specialises in manufacturing machine tools for various industries, including automotive, medical, and IT. Renowned for its metalworking expertise and advanced machining centres, Brother's tools can perform multiple machining operations and integrate automated systems to enhance productivity. With manufacturing facilities in Japan, China, and India, Brother serves global markets with tailored solutions and robust after-sales support. A reflection of their advanced solutions was seen at the recently concluded event- IMTEX 2025 held in Bengaluru.

Indigenous Solutions

At IMTEX 2025, Brother Machine Tools India made a significant impact by showcasing five state-of-the-art models. Eric Namikata, Managing Director of Brother Machine Tools India, emphasised the importance of the company's first India manufactured machines: the SB-D1 series. These have identical specifications to the Japan-manufactured SX-D1 series. "The SB D1 series is a milestone for us as it's our first locally produced machine. It reflects the capabilities of our Tumakuru plant, which began operations as our first specialist facility in December," Namikata shared. This launch highlights Brother's strategic shift toward indigenous production, aligning with global standards.

Markets in Focus

Brother's entry into the Indian market focuses on both the automotive and non-automotive sectors. Namikata explained, "While we have vast experience in the automotive industry, we see significant opportunities in non-automotive areas like profile machining. To address these needs, our line up includes five-axis machines, multi-tasking machines, and five-axis simultaneous control machines. These solutions are designed to meet diverse customer requirements in both segments."

Future plans

Looking ahead, Brother Machine Tools India aims to provide more than just machinery; it is committed to delivering comprehensive solutions throughout the customer lifecycle. "Our approach is twofold," Namikata stated. "In the pre sales phase, we work closely with customers to understand their components, recommend suitable models, and select the best cutting tools and holders. Post-sales, we actively engage with clients by visiting their sites alongside application service engineers. This allows us to identify challenges, optimise cycle times, and improve process capability indices (CPKs). Our goal is to ensure continuous value addition, even after the sale." Brother Machine Tools India is poised to strengthen its presence in the country by aligning its advanced manufacturing capabilities with customer-centric solutions. With a clear focus on innovation and service excellence, the company is well-positioned to meet the evolving demands of the Indian market while contributing to the global machine tool industry.
