Sri City launches skill development centre at Tada

Recognising the shortage of skilled manpower in the region, Sri City started a Skill Development Centre (SDC) in the premises of the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Tada.

Ramesh Subramaniyam, President, Sri City Foundation, administered the dedication ceremony and declared the 'Centre' inaugurated.

Annotating on the launch of SDC, Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City said,"As there is a shortage of skilled workforce in the far flung region, Sri City, right from the beginning, took initiative of training the local youth and creating them job opportunities. I am confident, Sri City Skill Development Centre will act as a catalyst in developing tailor-made skills among the youth, right at the door step of industries, suiting their specific needs."

SDC offers rigorous training to enhance skills of students in four trades, viz., Electrical, Fitter, Welding and Plumbing. Besides, the training helps in improving communication skills and developing professional ethics, which will enable the students to venture out in confidence and prove their caliber in the competitive workplace.

The course will run for two months, and during the current year, around 300 students will be trained. Youth belonging to the villages in Sri City vicinity will be given preference. However, others too can apply. Candidates with ITI qualification or 10/12 class passed/failed are eligible to apply. The selected candidates will get the training 'free of cost', along with free lodging and boarding facility.
