Avenues to increase industry competitiveness
Inaugurating a seminar organized to discuss avenues to increase industry competitiveness through technology up-gradation and skill development, while focusing on enhancement of domestic manufacturing capabilities through joint ventures and technical collaboration was inaugurated at the India Pavilion, Mr. Anupam Shah, Chairman, EEPC India said, "Germany has excellent production and innovation capabilities, highly skilled workforce, high technical standards and huge R&D investments; India requires these expertise to further build its competiveness in the sector both locally and globally. If the bilateral ties in electronics and electricals industries of India and Germany increase, then India will gain significantly in these aspects."
Positioning India as manufacturing and exporting hub for electronics
Dr. Joachim Richter, Project Finance International & Chairman of ZVEI Foreign Trade committee, who moderated the panel discussion on "Positioning India as manufacturing and exporting hub for electronics", noted that Germany is the 8th largest investment partner of India and there is ample room to enhance this partnership. "Through collaboration and exchange of services, Germany can gain immensely from not only getting access to India's huge market, but also utilizing India as an export hub for the global market by leveraging the country's technical and cost-efficient production capabilities", he added.
The presentation and panel discussion witnessed a series of key insights made by both Indian and German government officials and business leaders including Ajit Manocha, Co-Founder m2i- International, USA, Gururaj Deshpande, Chairman Tejas Networks, USA, Hari Om Rai, CMD, Lava International, Soumitra Bhattacharya, Joint MD, Bosch Ltd., Klaus John, Head of International trade and Future Markets Department, ZVEI and Prof Dr. Christoph Kutter, Director, Fraunhofer Research Institution for Microsystems and Solid State Technologies EMFT.
