Top-notch innovations blow away entrepreneurs

Bosch Rexroth's electronic and hydraulic components at HANNOVER MESSE

Industrial companies that are keen to stay ahead of the game can no longer afford to ignore Industry 4.0. With the boundaries between IT and automation becoming increasingly blurred, production processes are now much more dynamic, flexible and efficient. Hydraulics also have a role to play in such future-focused systems.

From a purely automation perspective, Industry 4.0 is an evolutionary development that is ready for networking. In its latest motion controls and motion/logic systems for hydraulics, Bosch Rexroth has already equipped the software with functions that were previously controlled entirely hydromechanically. The special features of fluid technology are compensated for automatically. The decentralized controls perform their duties autonomously and communicate with higher-level controls and master systems via open communication interfaces.

Proficool FANS

Look at the Proficool FANS, which are a specialist in complete cooling systems for industrial water.

Cold water is required for cooling in a whole range of production processes: from sugar refineries and dairies to breweries, rolling mills and incinerators. Based in Katowice in Poland, Proficool FANS produces forced draft cooling towers - cutting-edge, energy-saving industrial water cooling systems. At HANNOVER MESSE 2015, the company is presenting a range of cooling technologies, including the BORA series of cooling towers. The major advantage of an innovative forced draft cooling tower is that it can generate water savings of up to 97 percent over natural draft cooling systems.

These state-of-the-art cooling towers are constructed from glass fiber-reinforced plastics and stainless steel - materials that are well able to withstand poor weather conditions. The towers are used in a large number of industries - from the chemical, metallurgy and metal industries right through to mining.

A helping hand

Taiwan-based Delta Electronics is exhibiting an extensive range of intelligent automation and energy management solutions.

At the Delta Electronics stand at HANNOVER MESSE 2015, it's all about high speed. The new SCARA DRS40L robotic arm system can boost process productivity by a factor of three - and visitors to the fair can see it in action. The system is ideal for a range of industrial manufacturing processes, including assembly, coating, soldering, transportation, packaging and making screw connections.

Delta Electronics, whose mission statement is "to provide innovative, clean and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow", is also showcasing the BESS battery storage system. An intelligent, modular and flexible solution, it is the ideal addition to renewable energy systems in smart grid installations and can also optimize the energy balance of buildings. The BESS storage system is being exhibited in combination with photovoltaic plants, charging stations and energy-efficient street lighting systems.
