Modi had launched the Make in India campaign on 25th September, 2014 to promote India as an investment destination and to establish India as a manufacturing hub by attracting the global investors to India to make their products in India as the country has a huge potential of workforce, infrastructure, raw material and other facilities.

Initially 25 sectors have been identified in which there is wide scope for investment in manufacturing sector. The partnership with Hannover Messe is a step forward in this direction and the inaugural program and speech by Modi adequately reflects this sentiment.

Modi reaches Hannover
Hannover, in north Germany, is the capital of the federal state of Lower Saxony, Germany. It sits on the River Leine and was once the family seat of the Hanoverian Kings of Great Britain.

Modi reached Hannover from Paris on a three-day visit to the country. He held a roundtable meet with CEOs from leading German companies like Daimler, Bombardier, Voith and Metro AG on Sunday itself, where around 15 CEOs met him on a one-on-one setting.

Before the inaugural event, on reaching Hannover city, Modi had met the Lord Mayor of Hannover and presented him a Madhubani painting made by 70-year old national award winning artist, Smt Baua Devi. It depicted the various stages of life, association with nature, and the interconnected nature of life on Earth.

The Madhubani style of painting is a rural art form made by women from Mithila, in Bihar. The painting is done with fingers, nib-pens, twigs and matchsticks, using natural dyes and pigments. It uses a lot of geometrical patterns and usually depicta man and his association with nature, and scenes and deities from ancient epics.

The Fair, in general
The largest international fair in the beautiful city of Hannover is supposed to host a broad range of forums, conferences, and special events with more than 1300 lectures through the five days of the event. It opens the opportunity to learn more about the key issues affecting industry today. At the fair ground, one can compare notes, pick up valuable know-how, and check out the latest innovations, giving an edge one needs to keep ahead of the competition.

The India team to Hannover Messe, Modi along with his business representatives, is supposed to interact with the Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and her team to figure out India's role in the global economy and perspectives for its future growth path. They will also take a look at further opportunities to intensify the Indo-German Partnership.

The Indian market is becoming increasingly interesting for international players. Since Modi took became the PM, the economic development of the country is being monitored, growth projections for India are revised upwards, and initial and important economic reforms are being implemented.
