UTC Building & Industrial Systems has announced the appointment of Gaurang Pandya as president of its India operations. UTC Building & Industrial Systems is a unit of United Technologies, a leading provider to the aerospace and building technologies industries worldwide.

"Gaurang brings with him a rich experience of over 15 years working within United Technologies in a broad spectrum of leadership roles across India and Asia," said Ross B. Shuster, President, Asia, UTC Building & Industrial Systems. "Customer focus and operational excellence are among the many skills that Gaurang possesses. Under Gaurang's leadership, UTC Building & Industrial Systems will continue to build upon the already strong foundation that exists in our India business."

In his new position, Pandya will have the responsibility for leading UTC Building & Industrial Systems' business in India, which includes leading brands such as Carrier, Otis, Edwards, Chubb and Kidde. Pandya previously served as MD for Carrier Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Limited in India, providing oversight for a large portfolio that included commercial air-conditioning, fire and security solutions.

His appointment is effective immediately.
