Alstom has been awarded a 15-year maintenance contract by Metro Trains Sydney (MTS) for the maintenance of the 36km-long Sydney Metro Northwest railway. The contract includes the maintenance of Alstom's 22 six-car Metropolis train sets, Australia's first fully automated passenger rail vehicles, Alstom's Urbalis 400 Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling systems, point machines, operation and maintenance of the depot and the cleaning of the trains.
