Yatendra Kumar, the Business Head of MOTULTECH India Pvt Ltd, discusses key trends and technologies that are shaping the future of the manufacturing and machining industry, as well as groundbreaking technologies and solutions showcased at IMTEX 2025 and their business outlook.

What significant trends or technological advancements in the past year do you believe will shape the future of the manufacturing and machining industry?

We have been noticing some long-term trends in the metalworking industry for the last few years, impacting the usage of industrial oils. Our industrial customers are always seeking ways to improve productivity, which translates to a faster machining process. In parallel, there is an increase in usage of special alloys, likewise the continuous extension of aluminium. This is a direct consequence of the lightweight program initiated within several industries, particularly the automotive industry.

Finally, we note more and more interest in environmental, safety, and sustainability, and all major industries are getting interested in metalworking fluids, which are safer to use and contribute to carbon footprint reduction. These working conditions require more cooling and lubrication properties; therefore, the choice of premium metal working fluids is crucial.

At Motultech, thanks to our comprehensive and innovative product range, we answer these requests and help our customers overcome their productivity and sustainability challenges.

How is your organisation leveraging innovation and sustainability to stay competitive today?

Our labs based in Mumbai (India) and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) work jointly with labs in Paris (France), Bologna (Italy), and Los Angeles (USA) to develop more performant products, taking advantage of our international footprint but also our long-term relationship with first-class universities.

What are your key focus areas at IMTEX this year, and can you highlight any ground-breaking technologies or solutions your company will showcase?

Apart from a full and premium range of metalworking fluids, our valued customers visiting us at IMTEX this year will have the opportunity to discover some of our unique technologies developed by our labs internationally.

To name a few, IMTEX will be the opportunity to showcase our Green Tech© technology (bio-sourced lubricants with high machining performances along with sustainability), our new range of minimal quantity fluids for machining and lubrication, our latest generation of lubricants for aluminium extrusion, and a range of premium and innovative Fin blanking lubricants dedicated to HVAC processes. These innovative products have been developed to improve productivity, reduce total cost of ownership, and operate safely.

Looking ahead to 2025, what is your business outlook, and what strategies are you implementing to achieve growth and resilience in a dynamic market?
