This collaboration aims to enhance innovation and efficiency within SEDEMAC’s Research & Development, Engineering, and Manufacturing divisions.

SEDEMAC has adopted Siemens Xcelerator, a comprehensive portfolio of industry software, to speed up the development of motor and engine control units for both electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles without compromising quality. This collaboration aims to enhance innovation and efficiency within SEDEMAC's Research & Development, Engineering, and Manufacturing divisions.

The Siemens software plays a key role in SEDEMAC's development of motor control units for electric vehicles (EVs), hybrids, eBikes, and power tools, all of which leverage the company's proprietary sensorless control (SLC) technology. Additionally, engine control units for on-road and off-road engines are being developed using the platform.

Founded at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, SEDEMAC has grown into a global leader in control unit technology, with millions of vehicles and ICE equipment worldwide using its solutions. To streamline operations, SEDEMAC has integrated Siemens' Polarion™ X software, enabling centralised test case management, traceability, and design standardisation across its R&D teams.

Siemens' Teamcenter® X software for Product Lifecycle Management has also been adopted, complementing Polarion to create a robust digital innovation backbone. This setup enhances collaboration, streamlines the management of manufacturing Bill of Materials (mBOM), and significantly improves engineer productivity.

Harsh Vinjamoor, SEDEMAC's Chief Engineer for Systems Engineering, highlighted Polarion's flexibility in helping the company customize workflows, implement processes, and manage project risks more efficiently.

Mathew Thomas, Managing Director and Vice President for Siemens Digital Industries Software in India, emphasised the importance of a comprehensive digital strategy for product manufacturers, particularly in the growing electric vehicle ecosystem. He expressed excitement over the partnership, noting how Siemens' digital twin technology and Xcelerator platform will enable SEDEMAC to focus on innovation in product development and engineering.
