Burkert strengthens Indian operations with new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pune

Situated in Talegaon MIDC, Phase 2, the 50,000-square-foot facility is equipped with advanced machining centers, assembly lines, and testing centres, all tailored for optimal productivity.

Burkert Fluid Control Systems India Private Limited, a leading manufacturer of measurement and control systems for liquids and gases, has inaugurated its new manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra, in a grand ceremony. This cutting-edge facility is a key addition to Burkert's global value chain and is designed to meet the growing demand in the region by producing components and system solutions.

Situated in Talegaon MIDC, Phase 2, the 50,000-square-foot facility is equipped with advanced machining centers, assembly lines, and testing centres, all tailored for optimal productivity. With an annual production capacity of over 30,000 valves and 500 systems, the new unit brings Burkert closer to its customers, enhancing local employment and improving service delivery. Initially, production will focus on Mass Flow Controllers, Angle Seat Valves, Diaphragm Valves, and System Solutions, with plans to expand operations to meet the diverse needs of Indian industries in the future.

Speaking at the event, Georg Stawowy, CEO of Burkert Fluid Control Systems, remarked, "The opening of this new facility in India demonstrates our commitment to the Indian market and aligns with the government's 'Make in India' initiative. By manufacturing locally, we can better serve our customers with customised products that meet their specific needs. Our goal is to make Burkert an integral part of India's industrial landscape by combining our global expertise with local production capabilities."

Sadiq Khan, Managing Director of Burkert Fluid Control Systems India Pvt. Ltd., added, "This facility is a milestone for Burkert and becomes our third manufacturing unit producing world-class control and monitoring equipment outside Europe. It plays a vital role in completing Burkert's global value chain."

The Talegaon facility is expected to employ up to 32 people by the end of this year, with potential growth to 100 employees by next year. Burkert has already transferred several unique systems to India, including panels for Zone 1 ATEX classification. Local production will be key to the company's long-term profitability, with the facility expected to become profitable by 2028.

Globally, Burkert's turnover is approximately 710 million EUR, supported by over 3,700 employees. The company invests heavily in research and development, allocating 6.9 per cent of its total revenue to R&D. In India, Burkert serves prominent clients such as Zydus, Alembic, Sun Pharma, Biocon, Bharat Biotech, and Serum Institute, reinforcing its position as a key player in the country's industrial sector.
