Copeland, a leader in sustainable solutions, announced a Rs 500 crore investment in India to expand its manufacturing facility in Atit, Maharashtra and for the construction of a global R&D centre in Pune.
The manufacturing, engineering and R&D investments in India will expand engineering capabilities, increase production capacity of Copeland's compression solutions and develop the innovation of heating, cooling, refrigeration and industrial solutions.
The investments will expand the company's Pune manufacturing facility by 7,350 meters over the next five years and the addition of a 15,000 square meter R&D centre focused on advancing Copeland's climate solutions.
The expanded facilities in India will provide for the addition of a scroll compressor line that will cater to domestic and Copeland's international markets in the region. The addition will advance cooling and refrigeration technology deployments in India.
