Mahindra Telephonics and Shachaf Engineering have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on the design, development & manufacture of strategic electronics at Tel Aviv. Under this arrangement, Mahindra Telephonics would look to jointly develop strategic electronics subassemblies and systems for aerospace, marine & automotive applications with Shachaf Engineering. The scope of work would involve design, manufacturing and sourcing activities in Israel and India. Technology transfer & organization of training in specific areas, as jointly identified by the parties, would also be part of the scope of the collaboration.
S P Shukla, Chairman, Mahindra Aerospace and Group President-Aerospace & Defence, Mahindra Group, observed that "Both entities are part of large business houses with diversified yet complementary interests in strategic electronics. With this first step of collaboration, we expect to offer state of the art, cost-effective solutions for global and Indian customers, and also address Make in India initiatives of the Indian Government. We believe that this Indo-Israeli collaboration would synergistically combine our capabilities with technical strengths of Shachaf Engineering"
