The system's range of functions can be upgraded with various options and an adaptive, risk-sensitive concept that warns the driver in two stages is also available. Where required, the developers can also exploit synergies within the Continental Group to supplement the system with radar sensors. In combination with the already-proven camera systems ProViu 360 for all-round vehicle visibility and ProViu Mirror, the digital wing mirror replacement, ProViu Detect considerably increases driving safety levels.

Equipped for future legal requirements

Continental has already installed one of the first prototypes of this new development in the company's Innovation Truck - and the company will also showcase it at the IAA international commercial vehicle show. Together with interested OEMs, Continental is further developing the technology and customizing it to meet individual customer needs. With ProViu Detect, manufacturers are well equipped for the future if a right turn assistant should be included in the list of assistance systems legally prescribed for commercial vehicles.
