Tata Steel has started export of Tata Ferroshots from its steel plant located in Kalinganagar in Jajpur district of Odisha. Rajiv Kumar, Vice President (Operation) of Tata Steel Kalinganagar Plant flagged off the first export consignment to a South East Asian Country on August 23, 2016. Tata Ferroshots, granulated pig iron, is a new product that was launched by Tata Steel, from its Kalinganagar plant in March this year.

Within a few months of its launch, this innovative product has garnered a lot of interest from the steel industry, which has traditionally used Pig Iron, Sponge iron and Scrap. After its encouraging acceptance in the domestic market, the product is set to make its foray into the International arena. Tata Ferroshots is granulated pig iron solidified by cooling in water.
