Bharat Wire opens new plant at Chalisgaon, Maharashtra

Investment of Rs. 507 crore; capacity of 66,000 MTPA

Bharat Wire Ropes Limited has opened its new Greenfield project in MIDC, Chalisgaon, Maharashtra, with a capacity of 66,000 MTPA. Made with a whopping investment of Rs. 507 crore and employing state-of-the-art machinery imported from world leaders across the globe, the new plant at Chalisgaon will be one of Asia's largest integrated wire rope manufacturing facility.

Housing the most advanced testing and R&D centers, the Chalisgaon plant is spread over a sprawling 64-acre land and would enable Bharat Wire Ropes Limited to produce wire ropes with diameter ranging between 6 mm and 125 mm, and tensile strength up to 2160 N/sq. mm.

The overall production levels are expected to reach a staggering 78,000 Metric Tonnes per annum by the end of this year. The Director of Operations, Mayank Mittal says, "We have managed to make our Chalisgaon facility fully functional in a record time of eighteen months - a feat that we at BWRL are proud of."
