Boeing has awarded a contract to CIM Tools Pvt Ltd for the manufacture of complex titanium machined parts and aluminum assemblies for the 787 Dreamliner and 737 airplanes. Boeing and CIM Tools executives signed the contract during a ceremony at Bangalore.
Under the contract, CIM Tools will supply over 57,000 complex titanium machined parts, aluminum details and assemblies for Boeing 787 and 737 airplanes in coming years.
The new agreement was reached through close collaboration between Boeing and CIM Tools. CIM Tools is one of the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in India, which Boeing is directly working with. This is in line with Boeing's strategy in India to develop an indigenous aerospace and defense ecosystem to further support the ‘Make in India' initiative.
"This is yet another step in fulfilling our commitment in the creation of a globally competitive aerospace supply chain in India that delivers to stringent global standards," said Pratyush Kumar, president, Boeing India. "We look forward to the success of the new contract that we are signing with CIM Tools."
