Siemens' new headquarters in Munich has opened. Completed in only about three years, the new building provides space for 1,200 employees on an aboveground area of around 45,000 square meters.

"With our new corporate headquarters, we want to establish a symbol that stands for working together in the spirit of global entrepreneurship, for integration into society and for taking action in accordance with the principles of sustainability. From here, we want to shape the future of our company.

"The new building is always to be a place of treating each other with mutual respect and of maintaining an open dialogue that is unrestricted by hierarchical structures - a place characterized by a high degree of self-determination and personal responsibility," said Joe Kaeser, President and CEO of Siemens AG.

"From its beginnings to the present day, Siemens has been a company with international operations. The new corporate headquarters provide an open place where people from more than 40 countries work together - a place that's open to all Siemens employees around the world. Our new building features a modern and sustainable design, and it's meant to attract all those who want to help make the world a better place," said Gerhard Cromme, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Siemens AG.
