While inaugurating Cluster Development Programme and Launch of a compendium ‘Parcham' with brief collection of success stories of clusters development, Kalraj Mishra, Union Minister for MSME underlined the importance of MSME sector in generating employment. He stated that there is a huge potential in MSME sector. It can create an upsurge in the employment opportunities in the country. Poised for rapid growth and integration with major global value chains, MSEs will make considerable impact in realising ‘Make in India' vision. The sector has the potential to market its ‘Made in India' brand globally.

Mishra further mentioned that the Micro and Small Enterprises - Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP) is being implemented by MSME Ministry for holistic and integrated development of micro and small enterprises in clusters through Soft Interventions such as capacity building, marketing development, export promotion, skill development, technology upgradation, Hard Interventions like setting up of Common Facility Centers and Infrastructure up gradation in the new/existing industrial areas/ clusters of MSEs is being also taken up.
