Toyota TEP launched at SDM Industrial Training Institute, Venur, Mangalore

T-TEP, a CSR Initiative by Toyota Kirloskar Motor started in India in 2006; Toyota has partnered with 42 Institutes so far under the TTEP program.

Till now around 4200 students are trained under this training program and more than 2900 have been offered employment opportunities at Toyota Dealerships across India.

With this program, Toyota Kirloskar Motor intends to enhance the technical abilities and employability of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) students in the age group of 16 to 18 years. The program will benefit ITIs in building skilful technicians for the Indian automotive repair industry. The current automobile repair industry is characterised by inadequately skilled manpower and lack of professional training for repair and diagnostics. T-TEP is a unique initiative undertaken by TKM, in partnership with ITIs and its dealer partners across India to address this issue.

The General Technician T-TEP training syllabus imparts training on basic automotive fundamentals, Toyota Way of Service and technologies in Toyota Cars which will help the students to get jobs in the Automotive General Repair industry.

Commenting on the occasion B Padmanabha Vice President - Customer Service Group, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd said, "As you all know, the future of our nation lies with the youth, providing the necessary advance skill and knowledge will ensure increased competency to meet the industry and market expectations. When we first established this training module back in 2006, we were essentially compelled by the fact that there were inadequate trained and skilled manpower available in the industry.

"The purpose of TTEP is to contribute as a sustainable growth partner to automobile industry such that it can grow the technical capability of the young India, our 42nd association with an ITI institute has further reinstated our objective to carve out opportunities for talented students from the rural areas and make them more employable for the Indian automobile industry"

T-TEP is widely recognized across the globe for its effectiveness. The program has been successfully introduced in 419 institutes across 53 countries by Toyota, which includes USA, Australia, Italy, South Africa, China, Vietnam and India.
