At IMTEX 2025, the company reaffirmed its leadership by showcasing innovative solutions designed to address evolving market demands and sustainability goals.
Yatendra Kumar, Business Head of MotulTech India Pvt. Ltd., began by shedding light on Motul's expansive global footprint and its Indian operations. "We have a regional office in Singapore, and our Indian headquarters is based in Mumbai," he said, setting the stage. "At this event, we are showcasing a wide range of products, including metal working fluids, greases, and especially synthetic oils." Kumar emphasised that Motul's priorities have shifted significantly in recent years, driven by an increased focus on sustainable products. "Sustainability has become a major focus for us over the past few years," he added.
He elaborated on the company's target industries, starting with its foundational expertise in the automotive sector, which has since diversified into aerospace and HVAC industries. "Our recent acquisition in the US has added value-added products for the HVAC sector to our portfolio," Kumar explained. He underscored Motul's commitment to sustainability, pointing out their global initiative to reduce environmental impact. "We use only metal barrels globally, avoiding plastic entirely. Moreover, our bio-based metal working fluids, greases, and hydraulic oils are helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals. Our mission is to support them in reducing their carbon footprint and ensuring long-term success," Kumar noted passionately.
Gregoire Zaugg, Chairman of Motul Asia Pacific, provided a broader perspective on Motul's strategic priorities, particularly its investment in the Indian market. "India is already the largest market globally for Motul's automotive sector," Zaugg stated with enthusiasm. Addressing the importance of MotulTech's industrial lubricants in the Indian context, he observed, "India is currently undergoing an industrial revolution. This rapid development makes it a critical market for Motul's specialty business." Zaugg reiterated Motul's commitment to introducing cutting-edge technologies and innovative formulations for metal working fluids and other applications, aligning with India's industrial growth trajectory.
Lionel Dantiac, CEO of Motul Asia Pacific, delved into the company's legacy of innovation. "For 175 years, R&D has embodied the spirit of innovation, premiumness, and leadership that defines the Motul brand," he remarked. He highlighted Motul's pioneering achievements, such as creating the world's first semi-synthetic lubricant and fully synthetic oil. "Our six interconnected R&D centres worldwide continue to drive this momentum of innovation. We aim to deliver excellence by pushing the boundaries of technology and meeting the evolving needs of our customers," Dantiac asserted, reflecting the brand's forward-looking ethos.
Adding depth to the discussion, Jiten Goswami, Chairman of Motul India and Director of MotulTech India, brought in his extensive experience of over two decades with Motul India. In the automotive segment, we are the fastest-growing lubricants company in the country, focusing on premium synthetic lubricants with ester as our core technology," he shared.
Goswami also spotlighted MotulTech India's specialised approach to industrial applications, citing strategic collaborations with Baraldi in Italy for aluminum extrusion and chemarrow in the US for HVAC solutions. "We are specialists in our field, particularly in metal working fluids, neat cutting oils, and soluble cutting oils, which are seeing significant growth in India," he concluded with pride.
