Yuki Kita, President & CEO of FANUC India, shares his vision and insights into the company's participation at IMTEX 2025 and its broader commitment to empowering Indian manufacturers through innovation, and sustainability.

"FANUC has been an integral part of IMTEX for over three decades," says Yuki Kita. "This platform is more than just an exhibition for us; it's a valuable opportunity to connect with our customers, understand their needs, and showcase our latest technologies. IMTEX aligns seamlessly with our vision for industrial automation in India, where we aim to revolutionise manufacturing processes and drive efficiency at every level." At this year's event, FANUC India unveiled groundbreaking advancements tailored to the specific needs of the Indian market, demonstrating the company's commitment to supporting the nation's evolving manufacturing landscape.

Innovations on Display

"Given IMTEX's distinct focus on metal cutting, we are excited to showcase some of our most advanced technologies," Yuki Kita explains. Among the highlights are the newly introduced FS 0i MF Plus Adv Mill CNC with Alpha iD Servo, offering 10 per cent more energy efficiency, and the world's first cybersecurity-certified Robot Controller R-50 iA. For the first time in India, FANUC will present a high-rigidity robot designed for machining and drilling applications. Other innovations include collaborative robots (cobots) with payloads ranging from 5 kg to 30 kg, an ATEX certified cobot for paint applications, and a bin-picking solution equipped with FANUC's enhanced vision system.

FANUC's robotic advancements are complemented by its ROBOMACHINES, including the latest ROBODRILL and ROBOCUT models. "We're particularly proud of our fully automated future factory demo, which showcases the journey from design to finished medical implant machining," Kita adds. "This reflects our vision of what the next generation of manufacturing looks like."

Supporting Digital Transformation with Industry 4.0

FANUC is playing a pivotal role in helping Indian manufacturers adopt Industry 4.0 technologies. "Our new FANUC IoT platform, the Field System Basic Package, combines hardware 74 and software to optimise production with accurate cycle times. Additionally, our Smart Digital Twin technology enables manufacturers to simulate and perfect their operations before implementation," says Yuki Kita. These tools empower manufacturers to enhance efficiency and stay competitive in a rapidly digitising industry.

Making Automation Accessible for SMEs

Understanding the unique challenges of India's SME sector, FANUC has tailored its product offerings to meet a diverse range of needs. "Our product line is versatile, with CNC controllers, robots ranging from 0.5 kg to 2.3 tons in payload capacity, and machines that cater to simple and complex requirements. This ensures that automation is not only accessible but also affordable for businesses of all sizes," Kita explains.

Prioritising Sustainability

Sustainability is at the core of FANUC's product development strategy. "Our machines are designed to minimise their environmental footprint," Kita shares. FANUC's innovations include the ROBODRILL with the lowest machine footprint, energy-regenerative functions that reduce electricity use by 23.3 per cent, and a 27.2 per cent reduction in waste oil during manufacturing. "We are committed to helping our customers achieve their green goals while maintaining operational excellence."

Strategic Growth and India's Role

Looking ahead, FANUC India has ambitious plans for the next three to five years. "India is one of the world's fastest growing economies, offering immense potential for domestic and international manufacturers. Our strategic priorities include delivering cutting-edge automation solutions, fostering skill development, and driving innovation to support India's manufacturing growth," says Yuki Kita. He emphasises that India's dynamic market plays a significant role in FANUC's global growth strategy, positioning the company as a leader in the industrial automation space.

With a legacy of innovation and a clear vision for the future, FANUC India's participation at IMTEX 2025 underscores its commitment to transforming the manufacturing landscape in India and beyond. "We're not just showcasing technologies; we're shaping the future of manufacturing," concludes Yuki Kita.
