At IMTEX 2025, ET Now Machinist spoke with Christian Müller, CSO of Grob, about the company’s CNC advancements, automation solutions, and expansion plans for the Indian market.

With nearly a century of expertise, Grob has established itself as a global leader in CNC machine technology. At IMTEX 2025, the company showcased its latest innovations, reaffirming its commitment to supporting India's growing manufacturing sector. Christian Müller, CSO of Grob, highlighted how the company is expanding beyond its automotive roots into aerospace, medical, and industrial automation.

cutting-edge CNC Solutions

Grob's flagship G350 CNC machine, featured at IMTEX, is a full 5-axis simultaneous machining solution, capable of handling aluminium, titanium, and steel. With a variety of motor spindles and automation options, including pallet systems and tool magazines with up to 500 cutting tools, Grob is tackling complex manufacturing challenges head-on. "Bring your challenge to Grob, and we'll find a solution," Müller stated confidently.

Automation at the Forefront

Automation is now integral to Grob's offerings, with over 60% of CNC machines sold featuring automation solutions. The company collaborates closely with customers to develop tailor made automation systems, enabling manufacturers to optimise production, reduce costs, and run unmanned night shifts. "Automation isn't just an add-on anymore—it's a necessity for efficiency," Müller emphasised.

Growth and Expansion in India

Grob is deepening its India presence, having established a production plant in 2023 to serve local demand. Recognising India's booming aerospace and automation industries, the company is developing larger CNC machines to accommodate evolving market needs. The upcoming Gen3 CNC machine series, set for global release in 2026, will further enhance Grob's capability to handle larger, more complex parts.

With its focus on precision, automation, and industry-specific needs, Grob is committed to supporting India's manufacturing sector as it evolves. By offering customised, high-tech solutions, the company is helping businesses improve efficiency, reduce costs, and stay ahead in an increasingly competitive market.
